OUR ANNUAL COMMEMORATION OF 
THE LAST RESISTANCE OF TENOCHTITLAN 1521

Danza Azteca Taxcayolotl would like to invite you to our annual ceremony is to commemorate of the last resistance of Tenochtitlan 1521. We will be honoring our fallen solders and ancestors rooted deep in the lands of Aztlan. The Annual Aztec dance ceremony will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2014, and will bring together over 100 dancers from around Texas and the US. They will be dressed in colorful regalia, wear headdress with beautiful long feathers and will utilize natural instruments to compose traditional rhythms to dance in the historic Second Ward currently called the Eastend of Houston. Through our dance steps and drum beats the dancers will be honoring generations of indigenous traditions.

SPECIAL PROGRAMMING NOTE :Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 5:00pm-9:00pm. Danza Azteca Taxcayolotl will be hosting  a community event that is open to the media and the public. Additionally dancers and organizers will be available for interviews. Spanish and English Interview opportunities can be arranged by contacting Monica Villarreal at email taxcayolotl@gmail.com. Best interview times will be from 2pm-5pm once the ceremony begins dancers will no longer be available for interviews until the conclusion of the event at 8pm.
